I posted an album on Flickr of 160 of 600+ photos that I took last weekend while doing hurricane clean-up and relief work in Biloxi, MS. You can access the photo set here. I may put up a second photo album in the future. In the meantime I plan on using some of the ones that I have not yet published to catch up the photoblog (9/2 to 9/6). I may post more, perhaps even one or two from the Flickr set, if I do not make it out to shoot new stuff soon.
I have wanted a digital SLR ever since my friend Matt upgraded to a Canon Digital Rebel. While I believe that having a good eye is more important than your equipment, an expensive camera in the hands of someone who knows how to use it equates to better pictures.
So when I was asked to take a group photo of the mission team at church today, I was downright giddy when they handed me Ron’s Nikon D70. I immediately took it outside and started photographing flowers while they tried to get all fifteen people gathered together (no small feat).
I decided to share the fruits of my labors on pdaphotoblog.com. I know, I know. It does not fit with the title of the blog. However, the photos are being categorized as “non-PDA.” Besides, I am sure that you are as tired of waiting for my new PDA to arrive as I am. I hope you enjoy the next twelve days (starting here).
Oh, and by the way, congratulations to Willa for getting a D70 (and kudos to Stephen for spending all of his summer bonus on his wife). I wish Pam wanted a DSLR instead of a Whirlpool Duet washer and dryer (though truth be told…I want ‘em too).
