I left Blogger primarily because PixelPost is designed from the ground up for the express purpose of displaying images. The following is from the PixelPost main page:
It’s developed and maintained by photobloggers who like to keep the meaning behind photoblogging in mind, the photography, and not about the 311 hacks you would have to get through to get your regular blog to work like…well, what you can download right here for free.
As advertised, I got this site up and running with minimal effort. Most of the work I did was on the style sheet and little time was spent tweaking the functionality. Of all of the improvements over Blogger, I am especially pleased by the navigation features in PixelPost.
Hovering on the main image with your cursor reveals the previous image title. Just click on the image to go the the previous post.

All other navigation links are maintained on the header, which allows the image to be displayed in a neutral space. Another way of navigating back and forth are the “Prev” and “Next” links.

A comment link is also located on the banner.

After clicking on the comment link, a new window opens up to allow the user to read or add comments.

Perhaps one of the coolest features within PixelPost is the thumbnail archive.

While one could easily create the same style sheet in another blogging platform, the code behind PixelPost makes the above features not only possible, but easy to implement. If I tried to do this in WordPress, the CMS I am using for the “written blog” of this site (i.e., the page you are presently on), then I would have spent many moons messing around with multiple plugins. Doing the same in Blogger would have been next to impossible.

with this you can post right from your cell phone or PDA with just an email.
Ramin, that’s a cool feature. I will most certainly have to give it a whirl.
Thanks everyone for the feedback!
[…] be getting in the next few weeks. I may give posting photos on the fly a try, since Ramin pointed me to an email plugin for PixelPost. I am sure there is one for Wordpress, too.
